The short version
We don't sell your data. We don't run creepy ad networks. We don't require accounts. Anything you send us (a comment, a contact message, a submitted game) is used only to run the site.
What we collect
- Hardware check — when you run the hardware test, your Mac chip, RAM and approximate internet speed are detected in your browser and saved to your browser's local storage. We never see it.
- Contact form — the name, email and message you submit on the About page are stored so we can read and reply to you.
- Comments, performance reports, game submissions — whatever you type in those forms, plus the timestamp.
- Newsletter — your email, if you sign up. Unsubscribe at any time.
- Standard server logs — IP address, user agent and request path, kept briefly for abuse prevention and debugging.
What we don't collect
No account is required to browse. We don't run third-party tracking pixels, retargeting, or cross-site profiling. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
Cookies
We use a handful of strictly necessary first-party cookies and browser local storage for things like your theme preference and your saved hardware profile. That's it.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site (e.g. to Fanatical, Green Man Gaming, Humble, GOG, Steam) are affiliate links. If you buy something through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It helps keep the site free. It never changes which game we recommend.
Data retention
We keep what we need to run the site for as long as it's useful. You can ask us to delete anything you've sent us — see Contact below.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Get in touch and we'll handle it.
