How to run Super Mario Odyssey on Mac with Ryubing (Ryujinx community fork)

Super Mario Odyssey never released on PC, so emulation is the only Mac-friendly path. On Apple Silicon this is more workable than it was two years ago — most major emulators have native ARM builds and respectable compatibility. You must legally own the game and dump your own files from hardware you own; we don't link to or describe how to obtain ROMs, BIOSes, or keys, and emulator/file legality varies by region.
Step-by-step
Step 1 — Install Ryubing
- Download the Apple Silicon (.dmg) build from ryubing.org.
- Open the .dmg, drag Ryubing into Applications, then launch it. macOS will prompt for permission the first time.
Step 2 — Provide system files (yours, from your own Switch)
- Ryubing will refuse to load games until it has
prod.keys(andtitle.keysif present) plus a Switch firmware dump. - Open Tools → Open Ryujinx Folder. Drop your own
prod.keys/title.keysinto thesystemfolder. - In Ryubing, choose Tools → Install Firmware → Install from Directory and point it at your own firmware dump.
Step 3 — Add and launch Super Mario Odyssey
- Place your legally-dumped
Super Mario Odyssey.nsporSuper Mario Odyssey.xciin a folder of your choice. - In Ryubing, go to Options → Settings → User Interface → Game Directories and add that folder.
- Double-click Super Mario Odyssey in the library to launch. First boot can take 30-90 seconds while shaders compile.
Step 4 — Tuning for Apple Silicon
- Settings → System → enable VSync and PPTC (caches recompiled code, makes second boot much faster).
- Settings → Graphics → Backend: Vulkan via MoltenVK (default). Resolution scale 1x on M1/M2; you can try 2x on M3/M4.
- If a specific game stutters: disable Texture Recompression, then re-enable if VRAM-poor.
