Anno 1800™ Console Edition
Anno 1800 is a masterclass in city-building and real-time strategy, set against the backdrop of the Industrial Revolution. Players step into the 19th century as a leader tasked with building a global empire, progressing from humble farming villages to smog-filled industrial metropolises. The core loop revolves around complex logistics, satisfying production chains, and the careful management of multiple social classes to unlock new technological advancements.
The Console Edition is only playable via cloud streaming, while the PC version can run locally using translation layers like CrossOver.

- Subscription: Ensure you have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.
- Browser Setup: Use Safari or Google Chrome. Navigate to
xbox.com/play. - Controller: This is the Console Edition, so a physical controller (DualSense, Xbox, or MFi-certified) is required. Connect it via Bluetooth to your Mac.
- Launching: Search for 'Anno 1800' in the library and select 'Play'.
- PC Version via Crossover/Whisky: Note that the Console Edition cannot be played this way. If you own the PC version on Ubisoft Connect or Steam, you can use CrossOver 24 or Whisky (GPTK). This version supports Mouse and Keyboard and features a different UI. Performance is generally solid on M2 Pro/Max chips and higher.
- GeForce NOW: The PC version is also available on GFN, which provides 4K streaming and high-fidelity graphics without thermal throttling your Mac.
